Toxicstar hopped over to the Sky Vine. Staring up from the base of the Leader's Oak, the she-cat had to wonder why her ancestors named it the Sky Vine. It was really only a branch. She would've been more specific. Sky Branch, or something. Or.. Sky Branch covered with ivy vines. But either way. She sighed.
Bunching her muscles up, she hopped a foxlength up the length of the tree and dug her long, sharp claws in the bark, softened by rain and slowly-but-surely increasing temperatures. Clawing her way up to the branch, she hauled herself up the final tail length. Toxicstar sat down on the spot where she had previously softened all of the vines to where she could sit in them comfortably. Taking a deep breath, the she-cat gave a loud call, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the Sky Vine for a Clan meeting!"

Iceheart sat down in a nice place. I wonder what's going on, she thought. She was still tired from the gathering. Iceheart sighed. Then perked up as more cats came and sat down to listen to Toxicstar. I hope this is interesting, she thought.

Brindlepaw's was still in the medicine cat's den. His condition was stable thanks to Fallopaw's help, bu he was not going to be able to resume training for some time, and it was clear from the nature of his wounds that whoever attacked him had been intent on his murder. He had a laceration on his throat, a scratch across his forehead, bite marks on his back, and his belly was sliced in several places. He had only just regained conciousness again, but he couldn't move far. He strained his ears to hear what Toxicstar was saying from the interior of Wispdream's den. He wondered if his Clan leader even knew he had been attacked yet. On reflection, she might not care; most everyone in the Clan looked down on him, and some might even be dissapointed that he had survived his ordeal.

Adderpaw raised her head at her mentor's call. Some of the DarkClan cats at the Gathering had looked familiar. She shook it off as nothing, pleasing insanity. Her amber eyes flicked to the apprentices' den from where she was resting on the side of camp. She hadn't been used to staying up this late, and she could feel her eyelids drooping. Deciding herself close enough, she hardly flinched as Blackpaw approached, lashing his long black tail. "What happened?" he asked plainly, his eyes narrowed in the half-light. Green as a new leaf, Adderpaw decided half-consciously. "Eh, you'll find out soon enough," she yawned, flicking one ear and generously deciding to keep one eye half-open for the time being-- she didn't want to be rude or anything..

Toxicstar flicked her tail in satisfaction as her Clan began to gather. She cast her brilliant green gaze across the cats again before beginning her report.
"Cats of LeafClan, those of you who attended the Gathering this evening may know what I'm about to say," she began. She thought carefully about her next words, worried of starting a panic with the news. "At the Gathering, the leaders of every Clan had disturbing reports." She swallowed before continuing.
"Cats have been disappearing in certain places. RainClan, for example. Upon the first abduction, Moonstar took it upon herself to find her missing warrior. He was found dead." Toxicstar closed her eyes, curling her tail around her paws. "She and the other leaders suspect a rogue, who goes by the frightening title of Malice. If any cat here has witnessed or heard of this cat, please speak up immediately."

Iceheart perked up. Immediately, she mewed, "While I was out hunting the other day, I found an odd scent by the RainClan boarder." She looked around before she spoke again, aware the cats' eyes were turned toward her, "It was an odd scent, it certainly did not smell like a rouge's scent, but it was just weird." She flicked her ears, signaling she was done. I wonder if I should have said that, she thought, oh well, it's to late. She gave her chest a couple of nervous licks, as other cats gasped and whispered to each other.

jetpaw sat not far from toxicstar, his amber-green eyes bright with knowing. an eerie calm surrounded the medicine cat apprentice as he listened to his leader tell the clan about the cat who went by the the name of malice and a soft growl rumbled in his throat. the black and white tom blinked as he imagined what must go through that rogue's mind that made them that insane. he almost wanted to go out with his brother to hunt this murderer down and kill them. yet, he thought better of it.
he looked at toxicstar and rose to his paws, his long tail lashing briefly. his voice rang with clarity as he meowed "toxicstar, may i say something that may be of importance?" he did not yet tell his leader or even his brother about his latest fear for the clan. he did not speak about the omens with the other medicine cats, mostly because he was just an apprentice who's mentor was absent from the gathering and the medicine cat meeting, which he himself had not attended.
that did not mean that he still didn't share their fears.

Toxicstar raised a brow at the apprentice's request. Did he maybe know something about the mysterious rogue? She flicked her tail before responding firmly, "Of course, Jetpaw." Her fur rippled at her tone; normally, she wouldn't condone into being so serious.
I seriously miss being more layed back... and it only changed tonight. she thought, flicking a black and orange ear in distaste for her new 'attitude'. Why couldn't life be easier? Newleaf just started; that's when most cats expected everything to be a lot better, right? That's what I get for being naive.

the tom nodded and stood up, worry bubbling in his stomach. his voice came out surprisingly clear as he meowed "it is obvious that we must do something about this rogue cat before she takes the life of one of our own warriors. malice lives just outside the clan territory, does she not? we have to do everything we can to prevent her from endangering our clan." he took a deep breath before finally saying the last of his words. "we must send a patrol to the junkyard and the field where the loners roam. we must find malice and drive her away, or take it further need be.
"yet, we should start in our own territory. i had picked up the smell of a strange she-cat several times, though they have mostly been around the borders." the tom flicked his tailtip, wondering if toxicstar and the rest of the clan would listen to an apprentice. but he had to let them know about what he had found.

Raincrystal clawed at the ground. She was looking around annoyance prickled at her pelt. Her beautiful silver fur rippled multiple times, like the seashore rippling at it's beach's surface. Back and forth her blue eyes shot. She gazed at her clanmates. Were they believing this dung? Why were they suspecting a rogue? How could they come to this conclusion so fast, with such little evidence? She flicked her tail in the direction of Brindlepaw. The poor baby, Toxicstar didn't even notice that the apprentice was in the medicine cat's den.
Raincrystal raised her head, along with her voice. "Excuse me for interrupting you Jetpaw, but I cannot hold my tongue much longer." Her blue eyes flicked from the black apprentice to the black leader. "May I say something as well, it's about what happened in camp during the gathering." Nervously the silver warrior shifted on her paws. Was this it, would her clan believe what she had to say rather than Lynxstar or Jetpaw? Or would her words just slip over the cats' heads like a birds feather?

Toxicstar sighed. Even the apprentices were starting to notice. She raked her sharp green gaze around the camp again before flicking her ears. "Before you speak, I'd like to know why Brindlepaw's not here." she said, locking eyes with the warrior.
Inside, she wasn't as cold at the moment as she sounded. Stress was building up inside the lithe black she-cat, slowly pushing her towards the edge. Now not only was there a rogue on the loose, but she got this feeling that the Clan wasn't telling her everything. Why didn't anyone tell her that Brindlepaw wasn't here? Did they not trust her enough to tell her what was going on? She pulled her ears back.

Brindlepaw, hearing his name, flattened his ears. Toxicstar was going to be upset with him for letting himself get beaten up by that DarkClan warrior, he just knew it. He heard Raincrystal talking, and he knew she intended to tell Toxicstar about the attack. He swished his tail nervously. He wished he could explain himself, but he couldn't even stand up on his own at the moment. It was everything he could do just to stay conscious. Grayness misted on the edges of his vision every few moments, and he knew that very soon he would pass out again. Wispdream had told him that he would be passing out a lot because of the blood loss. He opened his jaws to try calling out to Toxicstar, but the gash on his throat stretched painfully as he lifted his head. He settled back down with a miserable whimper, covering his head with his paws and preparing for the worst.

Iceheart didn't even realize that Brindlepaw wasn't here. She looked around. She finally spotted him in the Medicine Cat's den. She then saw his wound. Wow, she thought, big wound.
On the way back to camp, she thought she had smelled blood, but didn't realize that is was Brindlepaw's until now. She wanted to race over to him, but she knew she couldn't. It would make to much of a scene. She felt bad for the apprentice. After this meeting, I'll go and visit him, she thought.

The silver warrior met Toxicstar's gaze bravely and squarely. She held her gaze for a while, then dropped it as she looked toward the medicine cat den. She saw Brindlepaw straining to answer the leader's question himself. Sadly, Raincrystal watched him fail and bury his face in his paw fur. she tilted her head slightly and got to her paws, making her way slowly over to the apprentice who was sitting just inside the den.
She sat down beside him and meowed carefully. "That is why I would like to speak Toxicstar. Brindlepaw was injured in a little scuffle between him and another cat." Raincrystal decided that she would save the name of the ct for later. "I think it may change your mind about where the evil in this forest is really coming from."
The silver she-cat peered down at the apprentice beside her. She swiped her tail onto the back of his scruff, her blue eyes full of reassurance. Raincrystal knew that it would be better if he told the story, but it seemed that that DarkClan cat snatched Brindlepaw's voice away while it was bullying him about.

Shaking like a leaf in a windstorm, Brindlepaw uncovered his face and looked up at the Clan Leader. "I-I-I... I-I-I..." he heard sniggering from somewhere in the crowd, and his ears pressed even closer to his head. The won't believe me, he wailed internally. Everyone hates me, I'm stupid and ugly and I can't do anything right!
His fragile courage was faltering, and he realized that Raincrystal had laid her tail across his shoulders. He took a deep breath, then meowed, "I w-w-was attacked. A cat t-t-tried to k-k-kill me. A cat who smelled like D-D-DarkC-C-Clan."
