^{Auroraflight giggled when she saw the excitement in her apprentice's eyes. She padded out of the den, following Lilypaw.
"Okay, so I need catmint, feverfew, and burdock root...." Auroraflight murmered softly to herself. As they approached the stream, Auroraflight halted Lilypaw back with her tail. All of the apprentices knew they could not go near the lake without a warrior- or medicine cat. "Be careful. Many kits and apprentices have been lost in the currents of that very stream."}

"I know, I know." Lilypaw sighed, rolling her eyes. The Black Stream was the first place you learned not to go as a kit. Horror stories of lost kits and apprentices who had travelled too far from their mentor in the blackness of night that had just tumbled right in- the rushing river masked by other night sounds.
Lilypaw nosed around the soil for some familiar herbs, pulling out a leafy green plant at the stem with her teeth.
"Catmint, right?" she asked, digging a small nest like hole in the ground and setting the herb in it.

Onyxpaw creeped up behind Lilypaw and Auroraflight shrieking, "AURORAFLIGHTT," He waved his paw in front of her face. "Look, look, it's healed! It doesn't even hurt!" He said, flailing both of his paws around, instantly falling onto his back. "You're magic, Auroraflight!" He mewed, giggling, before he stood up once again and licked his paws. "Gooooooood morning, Lilypaw!" He said politely, tapping his tail on the floor.

Lilypaw screeched, whipping her head around and glaring at Onyxpaw.
"What the in the name of Starclan are you doing, mousebrain!?" she hissed, guarding the little nest of catmint she had gathered. "If you're going to sneak up on us, at least don't scream bloody murder!" the female head butted the other apprentice, but her menacing scowl faded into a warm smile.
"What is your problem??" she giggled.

Onyxpaw jerked his head back in embarressment as the she-cat snapped at him. He blinked in shock, then grinned. "SORRY, Lilypaw," He smiled wider, then padded past Lilypaw, sitting next to Auroraflight, "You don't have enough time." He said, in clear response to Lilypaw's question. He smiled at her, then looked at Auroraflight, "So.. what are you doing?"

^{Auroraflight couldn't stop laughing. Apprentices... what would we do without them? "We're looking for herbs!" she replied brightly, "Wanna join?" She heard Lilypaw scowl, but she pretended not to hear it.}

Onyxpaw shrugged. "Why not?" He said, waving his tail back and forth. "So what herbs are we looking for?" He shivered as he remembered searching for cobweb. "They don't involve sticking your paws into dark crevices right?" He shook his head in disapprovement, and backed up a bit, waiting patiently for her response.
