Name :
Gingerface { paw }
Gender :
Male
Age :
24 Moons
Clan/ Group :
ThunderClan
Postion :
Warrior
Description :
Gingerface is a orange and black spotted tom with green-blue eyes. He is a sturdy tom with a long fluffy tail. He has shorter legs, and is not the best hunter, but he is very skilled in battle. His ability to crouch low and be very balanced is quite a valuable trait in battle.
Personality :
Gingerface is strict and orderly. He is extremely organized and never regrets or changes what he says. What goes, goes. He doesn't like to take questions, or listen to others opinions. This trait makes him slightly stubborn, though equally strong-hearted and a very loyal warrior.
His respect for the warrior code and rank order is probably stronger than any other cats' in any clan. He never ever dares to defy his leader, and sticks to the warrior code like glue. He feels that he has power over all lower ranks, but uses his power wisely. Even though he respects both higher ranks, other clans, and the warrior code, he is extremely ambitious and competitive.
He is so utterly competitive, he will hunt for as long as it takes to find the biggest squirrel or the biggest finch, just so that he can be the best. He'll even compete with apprentices. Kits maybe! Whoever is better than him, he challenges in order to become more skilled than that cat. Though being competitive has brought him much trouble in his life, it helped him earn respect and gain the rank of deputy. He loves being deputy, and would give his life to his clan.
Even though Gingerface has his cons, he does enjoy one thing. Being alone, and kits. Kits inspire him. He is absolutely mesmerized by them. He loves how they see the world as a beautiful place, filled with happiness, peace, food, and everything great. He loves how they don't realize that they'll grow up, and they'll have families of their own, and how one day, they too will die. He loves how they are in no rush to grow older. He just... loves kits. He really truly hopes that one day he will have his own.
Family :
Coldwhisper - Mother { deceased }
Crispleaf - Father { deceased }
Sunsong - Sister
Raggedkit - Nephew
Lichenkit - Niece
History :
Gingerkit was born to a beautiful black-dappled she-cat named Coldwhisper, and a handsome brown tabby named Crispleaf. He was only born to a family of 4, along with his sister Sunkit, a bright orange tabby. Right from birth, Gingerkit loved fighting. He play-fought with his sister until he accidentally got carried away and cut her paw. His mother was a fiesty she-cat, and had strict rules for Gingerkit and Sunkit. As soon as the sun went down, they were sent to the nursery. They weren't allowed to the dirtplace alone, and were not allowed to any dens besides the nursery unless they had a warrior or their father with them. Because of Gingerkit's respectful trait, he followed his mother's rules. His sister was a completely different subject. She'd stay out until moon-high chatting her life away with warrior's and elders. They absolutely adored her. Of course, she was allowed to stay out because that was the case with Coldwhisper. Coldwhisper felt that Sunkit was responsible enough to stay out late and defy some of her strict sayings. Even though Windwhisper's laws were finecut and precise, they shaped Gingerface into an honorable warrior.
At the age of 6 moons, he was given his first mentor, Shadefeather. Shadefeather was quite a jokester. He often wandered off while training young, respectful Gingerpaw, and wanted to practice fun teachings instead of important ones. Gingerpaw absolutely hated Shadefeather. He wanted a mentor who would train him to be the best he could be, but he didn't get one until Shadefeather fell frightfully ill at Gingerpaw's age of 8 moons. Gingerpaw was given yet another mentor named Briarsplash. Unlike his recent mentor, Gingerpaw admired her entirely. She taught Gingerpaw everything he knows, and shaped him into the cat he is today. One day while hunting near the ShadowClan border, Gingerpaw was in a lightning fast pursuit with a squirrel. "I'm gonna get you!" He yipped, lunged forward. He slashed at nothing but air, and stumbled downwards, faceplanting into the ground. Briarsplash attempted to hold back laughter, but failed entirely. She burst out in laughter, but quickly aided to his needs, padding toward him, and helping him up. Little did they notice they were on ShadowClan territory. A dark brown tabby warrior lashed out from the shadows and pinned Briarsplash down, staring her in the eyes. "You are trespassing on ShadowClan territory." He whispered menacingly, his pupils narrowing into slits. A shaky grey-spotted apprentice bounded forward, watching his mentor eagerly, then looking at Gingerpaw. He stepped forward, then added, "Yeah!" nervously. Gingerpaw snorted, and hissed in disgust. "Why would I even want to be on ShadowClan territory. Gross!" He faced the other apprentice in challenge, narrowing his eyes. Briarsplash pushed upwards with her hind legs, the warrior falling backwards in the grass. She stood up, and shook out her fur, sitting down and casually licking her paw. "Don't you have anything better to do, Snakefur. Gingerpaw accidentally chased a squirrel over the border. No harm done." She stood up and began to walk away, tail raised in dominance. Gingerpaw huffed at the other apprentice, then followed after his mentor, until they crossed onto their border. "You'll regret this, Briarsplash!" Snakefur hissed after them, whisking back into the trees.
Gingerpaw was given the name Gingerface because of the splash of ginger on his face. After he became a warrior, he had a strong relationship with Briarsplash.
One day, when Briarsplash, Gingerface, Smallheart, and Koipaw were on a border patrol, they ran into a ShadowClan border patrol. And to Gingerface's surprise, he saw Snakefur and his old apprentice in the ShadowClan patrol. Snakefur smirked widely, padding toward the edge of the border, face-to-face with Briarsplash. "Hello, dear." He hissed, lashing his tail back and forth in patience. The once nervous silver-speckled warrior whom had been trained by Snakefur padded forward, revealing himself. Now he was quite large, even a little larger than Snakefur. "Snakefur, we don't need to talk to these warriors." The larger warrior advised. "Silence, Cloudspots. I've been waiting for the day we saw Briarsplash again." Chills ran down Briarsplash's spine. Gingerface pressed his flank against hers, trying to calm her down. Smallheart and Koipaw bounded forward, both looking a little frazzled. "Whats going on here?" Smallheart spoke, breaking through the silence. A warrior from ShadowClan agreed, looking at Snakefur with narrowed eyes. "It's not worth it Snakefur." He padded toward Snakefur and nudged him softly. "Stop that Skyeyes. I'll do what I want." And with that, Snakefur leapt at Briarsplash, bowling her over the borderline and setting the battle on ThunderClan territory. Gingerface hissed at Snakefur, and grabbed his scruff with his teeth, shaking his head back and forth. "Get off her!" Cloudspots thrust his body in between Gingerface and Snakefur. "This battle is not yours to fight." He said calmly. "Who said so?" Gingerface stepped forward, his eyes narrowing in fury. He leapt at Cloudspots, slashing him across the face. The border battle began. Smallheart and Koipaw leapt into battle with the three other ShadowClan cats, even though ThunderClan was outnumbered. Snakefur finally pinned Briarsplash down, then licked his blood-covered muzzle. Slowly he sunk his claws into her front legs, a shriek of pain escaping from Briarsplash's mouth. Blood seeped out of Briarsplash's deep wounds, covering nearly all of Snakefur's paws with the sticky red substance. His mouth parted into a wide smile. Gingerface threw Cloudspot's large body off of him, then leapt at Snakefur. Snakefur looked up and lifted one of his paws. "Huh?" As Gingerface landed on Snakefur, Snakefur's claws sunk deep into Briarsplash's chest. Briarsplash howled in pain. Snakefur fell over, his claws leaving Briarsplash's chest. Gingerface stumbled to his paws, then leaned over Briarsplash. Her usually dazzling blue eyes faded to a grey, and her glowing golden fur was pale. Gingerface shook his head in dismay. All the other cats gathered around Briarsplash's body, their face's stone. An older warrior named Swiftstrike faced the ThunderClan cats and bowed his head. "I am so entirely sorry for this. I'm sure Snakefur didn't mean to kill her. It was an accident." Cloudspots and the other ShadowClan cats all dipped their heads all except for Snakefur. He stood there in shock. He shook his head in disbelief. "Stop being so pitiful." He ordered the other ShadowClan cats. "I did not kill her. He did." He faced Gingerface, lifting his muzzle. Gingerface lifted his head slowly, his face showing pure, absolute hatred. He slowly padded toward Snakefur. "You. You ignorant, self-absorbent, cold-hearted piece of foxdung! You must not have a smudge of honor to step up to what you did!! You killed a young, innocent she-cat! She had a family! She had dreams! She had a future!" Gingerface got so close to Snakefur, they were a whisker away from each other. Tear's streamed down Gingerface's face, "I loved her. And you destroyed her." He slowly raised his paw to slash the mouse-brain across his face, but just shook his head instead. "You don't deserve my time. Goodbye." Snakefur stood there, blinking in shock. He slowly absorbed the words, then turned tail and ran back to camp, blood stinking from his pelt. The rest of the ShadowClan warriors followed. Gingerface laid his head in Briarsplash's fur, shaking his head and whimpering softly. "Let StarClan light your path, Briarsplash." He whispered to her before carrying her body back to the ThunderClan camp.
Moons and moons passed. For the first moons, he barely spoke to anyone. Finally, by the fourth moon, his sister had kits. Raggedkit and Lichenkit. He adored them. They allowed him to love again. He started speaking to others again, and felt once again at home with his clan, even though a part of his heart had disappeared because of Briarsplash's death. He spent countless hours with Raggedkit and Lichenkit, and they helped restore the missing part in his heart. Even though Gingerface and Sunsong had their differences, Raggedkit and Lichenkit really helped unite them as siblings.
Roleplay Sample :
Gingerface awoke in the warrior's den, his eyes opening wide faster than lightning. He stretched quickly, then sprinted out of the warrior's den, checking on the height of the sun to make sure it was nearly dawn. He hurried into the nursery, and poked his head in, creeping toward the small bodies of his nephew and niece. Sunsong looked up at Gingerface, rolling her eyes as he crept closer. "Again? It's not even dawn ye-" "SH!" Gingerface shooshed his sister, then laid down, placing his head a nose length away from the small faces of his niece and nephew. He breathed softly. Lichenkit giggled, Gingerface's breath feeling like wind on her small whiskers. She and Raggedkit slowly opened their eyes, and Gingerface smiled. "Boo." Lichenkit and Raggedkit jumped backwards, first screeching and then laughing at their playful uncle. He smiled. The other queens hissed at him, "Get back to sleep, it's not even dawn yet!" Gingerface rolled his eyes, then patted both Lichenkit and Raggedkit on the head, leaving the nursery for the morning.
