Resting for the night

Toxicstar was dozing in her den it seemed, by the time the sun disappeared, "She needs to rest anyway." Duskwind looked up the leader's den and smiled, "She's like Brindlepaw's mother," The two warriors said farewell to Wispdream and Jetpaw and left to the Warriors den.

Breezefur and a few other warriors were are already in their nests, talking quietly to one another. Duskwind settled beside one of the walls in the den. He motioned with his tail, "This is where Hollyfrost used to sleep. She wouldn't mind if you slept in her nest."

The two warriors pressed up against eachother, and Duskwind dozed off after saying, "Good Night, Iceheart."

"Good night Duskwind." Iceheart quickly dozed off to sleep. She had a very blissful dream. Her parents visited her that night. They appeared before her and they talked for a very long time, visiting, sharing tongues, and just enjoying eachother's company. But something struck out to Iceheart. "We'll be very proud of your new kits," Hawkwing, her father, mewed.

"I'm going to have kits?"

"Yes and they'll be beautiful, just like you Iceheart," her mother, Moonflower mewed silently.

Iceheart fell silent. I'm going to have kits! But my warrior duties....that will take them away.... Her parents saw her troubled face and cheered her up. "Once they're apprentices, you can go back to your warrior duties! You won't miss a thing. Even the greatest leaders had kits. Don't worry, you'll be fine," her mother mewed. "But its morning now, we will see you soon."

Duskwind blinked his eyes open, and got up to stretch. Yawning, he nudged Iceheart with his nose, "Time to get up, sleepy head," He purred. When his mate got up, they went outside, then grabbing a piece of fresh-kill from the pile.

Settling by a shaded area, the two ate quietly, enjoying their morning meal. Duskwind sighed, "Today is going to be long, I can feel it," He flicked his tail in annoyance.

Getting it out of mind, he began to clean Iceheart's pelt, "You roll a lot in your sleep," He purred as he cleaned. When he was done, he licked her cheek, "There."

Iceheart began to doze off again as Duskwind cleaned her fur. She looked across the camp clearing, just looking around. When am I going to tell Duskwind about the kits? She pondered this thought for a moment and decided to wait for a better time. To soon.

Iceheart perked up as she saw Breezefur wonder into the clearing out of the warrior's den. "Hello, Breezefur! Good morning!"

Breezefur saw his brother and his brother's mate, "Oh, mornin'" He yawned and tried not to bump into Brackencloud on the way to the fresh-kill pile. The white tabby warrior smirked and weaved his way into the nursery.

"Have you seen Hollyfrost's kits, yet?" Duskwind mewed. His brother nodded, "We haven't." Breezefur dropped his prey and grabbed his brother's scruff, starting to pull him.

"Come on! One of them looks like Mama! You've got to see them!" Breezefur meowed loudly.

The black and white Warrior hissed, "Then let me go," He broke away from the ruffled tom and beckond his mate, "Let's go." The three headed to the nursery and the strong scent of milk filled their nose.

Hollyfrost was curled around two kits, one that was a dark gray tabby and the other was white with tabby patches, "Duskwind! Iceheart!" She mewed in surprise, "Good morning! I suppose you are here to see the kits. They just opened their eyes yesterday."

Duskwind glanced at Cinderkit, "Mama..." Breezefur and Hollyfrost seemed to understand, and they had grief cloud their eyes for a heart beat.
