Name:: Brindlepaw
Gender:: Tom
Age:: Seven moons
Clan/ Group:: LeafClan
Postion:: Apprentice
Description:: (See attached picture) He has often been described as being one of the ugliest cats in the Clan, which has done no good for his self esteem. His pelt is dull, dusty brown flecked with white and darker brown. Half of his face is a brown so dark as to almost be black, and the other half of his face and his throat are white. His eyes are a shade of yellow so murky as to almost be colorless.
Personality:: Brindlepaw is a very shy, introverted young cat. Having been teased most of his kithood for his unusual pelt color has made him hesitant to put himself forward for anything. He has skill and strength, but his self-doubt has caused him to fumble at the easiest of exercises. He has few friends among the other apprentices because he keeps so much to himself for fear of being harassed about his looks.
Family:: He was born the only kit of an aged she-cat named Whitestep. The identity of his father was never known.
History:: Brindlepaw's mother, Whitestep, was very close to the day she would be joining the elders when she discovered she was to have kits. There was a great deal of concern for the aged she-cat; she was far to old to be kitting, and it was clear that the pregnancy was having a negative effect on her. When finally she gave birth, it was as everyone feared; she lost too much blood, and died in the kitting. Her only kit survived, but he was without a mother and his father's identity was unknown. Named Brindlekit by the queen who adopted him, he was in for a rough time. His pelt was far from attractive. In point of fact, he looked like a white cat who had been rolling in mud until he was liberally splattered with gunk. The other kits teased him mercilessly for his ugliness, which left him with a great deal of self-loathing going into his apprenticeship.
RolePlay Sample:: As Brindlepaw's new mentor leaned forward to touch noses, the apprentice instinctively pulled away. All too often in his short life, having someone's face so close to his was the foreshadowing of a rough round of mockery. Visibly steeling himself, Brindlepaw stretched up to touch noses with the warrior. All around him he heard his Clanmates meowing encouragements.
It won't last, he thought sadly, It's like Meadowkit said; I'm so ugly that I'm bound to be useless as a warrior.
The physical appearence had little to do with skill never occured to the young cat. It would be moons before he had rebuilt the shattered fragments of his self-esteem.
