Name Cedarclaw cedarkit, cedarpaw
Name explanation: His fur is brown like that of a cedar tree, his claws are brown too.
Gender: Male
Age: Thirty-six moons.
Clan: LeafClan.
Rank: Deputy.
Description: A light brown tabby with pale green eyes.
Cedarclaw's frame is actually pretty small, but you would not thing that. At first glace, you see a large cat with light brown fur and tabby markings on his face. Don't forget his striking pale green eyes. His fur is long and puffy, and it makes him look pretty fat. All over his body there are faint, and I mean faint tabby markings that you can't see unless you look very close. His face has the actual tabby markings that you can see very well. It also looks like he is waearing eyeliner - silly cats.
His eyes are pale green, and do not portray his emotions very well. They are there, but it is hard to tell. His ears are long and have white tuffs coming out of them. His whiskers are long. His paws are big, but for some reason he walks with an unnatural grace. His tail is long, puffy, and the fur droops down a little whenever he walks. He raises it off the ground when he walks, but to be honest, he prefers to just let it drag across the floor.
Personality: Cedarclaw, unlike most cats, is anti-social. He gets annoyed whenever you try to speak to him, and he will either ignore you, or glare at you until you leave him alone. He enjoys solitude, and finds comfort in it. He will only talk to his friends, or his elders, but if you get far enough to be his friend, then well, good for you.
He is also abrupt, and will speak whatever is on his mind. This makes him seem rude, but he really isn't. If you annoy him, he'll flat out say, "You're annoying me. Get away." without feeling guilt or remorse.
Cedarclaw is unnaturally calm. Whether it be in a fight, or just a talk, he will stay calm. It can be rather creepy, but hey, that's Cedarclaw for you. He is die-hard loyal, and will die fighting to protect his clan. It is the most important thing to him right now. Loners annoy him to no end for they are loyal to no one. This shouldn't unnerve him, but it does, and most of the time he will attack a loner on sight.
Despite being anti social, he really is a good leader. He isn't afraid to give orders or hurt some feelings; his duty is to his clan and his clan alone.
History: Two parents. Two apprentices. One child. All not ready.
It all started with two apprentices. The female was not at all ready for motherhood, and was oh so close to finishing her apprenticeship. The male was not ready either, but he had just started his apprenticeship. The two were very close - closer than they led others to believe, but they were horrified when they realized that they were going to be parents. The female refused to tell who the father was - she loved him too much to put this on him - but he tried to convince her otherwise. It didn't work, obviously, and he lives with the sad feeling of not raising his child in public. Still, they weren't ready.
When Cedarclaw was born, everyone was shocked at how he didn't look like his mother - at all. They suspected his father, but both he and his mother denied any sort of relationship. Cedarclaw had two sisters, but they were both stillborn. At the time there were no other kits in the nursery to play with, so he developed his anti-social attitude early in life. His mother cleaned him frequently, and scolded him whenever he would get dirty on purpose. He did it often to make his mother upset. She was not mentally ready for motherhood, so eventually she had to give him to a mother who was ready for it. This troubled the young kit to no end.
Soon there were new kits in the nursery along with Cedarclaw, but he refused to play with them. Except for one kit - Rowankit. He was Cedarclaw's best friend - and still is. They would talk for hours about the adventures they would take when they got older. They joked that one of them would become leader of their own clan and start legends of their own. They called it Cedarclan or Rowanclan. When Cedarclaw was a month away from starting apprenticeship, Rowankit was horrified at the thought of losing his best friend, but Cedarclaw promised him that they would always be friends.
Cedarclaw's mentor was a sweet she-cat named Whitestep. She wasn't hard on him whenever she trained, and this irked Cedarclaw. Many times he would ask her to be harder on him, and she just didn't understand. The young tomcat wanted to push himself. He wanted to have a challenge. He would venture out of camp to teach himself, and it worked for a while... until the leader caught on. He wasn't allowed to leave camp without an older cat. Cedarclaw was annoyed by this, and often left without telling anyone. He would get in trouble for it, but to be honest, he really didn't care.
Eventually Whitestep agreed to be harder on him, but she failed miserably. So Cedarclaw kept training on his own, and whenever he trained with Whitestep, she was surprised to see how well he was doing. She thought that she was an okay mentor if she was able to train this mischievous apprentice, and he let her believe that. One winter he got greencough, and everyone was sure that he would not make it. Rowankit - by this time Rowanpaw - stayed with him, and would get angry whenever anyone would tell him to leave.
Cedarpaw overcame this sickness, and soon after became Cedarclaw. Two moons later Rowanpaw became Rowanfoot. To this day the two are closer than others, and would die to keep the other safe. He ended up getting an apprentice, and boy, he was a handful. Eventually he became a warrior himself, and the leader deemed Cedarclaw *cool* enough to become deputy. He was baffled.
Role-Play Sample Sniff. Sniff.
The air was crisp, fresh, and the night was calming. The black tom lied in an abandoned farm full of other loners and rogues who, like him, needed a place to shelter. Unlike the others, though, Rico stayed there full time, and to the others, he was the owner of the land. He had been there the longest, he knew where the best hunting places were, he knew the land. He'd been there ever since he saved his niece, Foxpaw. It had been in vain, though, because he'd recently heard from his sister that she had died. How did she die? Unknown reasons. Rico growled softly, attracting the attention of the other cats. If I had taken care of her, then she'd still be alive! he narrowed his eyes in thought before getting up and walking out of the two large white doors, oblivious to the stares that he was getting.
Sniff. Sniff.
The black tom lifted his nose to the air, smelling the rain that had just began to fall ever so slightly. He looked over to the bales of hay, and walked over to them cautiously. He smiled as he saw the small drops of water that had covered them, making them almost dreamlike. He closed his eyes, thinking of Jinx. He quickly snorted in disgust, and his lip curled as he thought of the young him. Small, foolish, but clever. "She'd believe in ANYTHING!" he laughed, opening his eyes and remembering the kits that he left behind with her. He missed them, true, but they'd never speak to him. Next to the black rogue was a small puddle; he looked into it. He sighed as he saw the 'x' that covered his face, ruining his chance for a real love.
Maybe it's time to get a real mate, or maybe I'm just crazy.
A good two hours had passed before Rico returned to his home. He had gotten a small pile of fresh kill, and when he entered, he entered the approving stares and purrs of the others. Smiling, he put the mice in the corner of the barn, and walked back to his spot. He quickened his pace in alarm as he smelled a new cat. Fear? His lips twisted into a cruel smile as he saw the cats gather around the new comer. He moved into the center of the group, and quickly barked orders. Soon he looked at the cat. Female, pretty enough, but that didn't matter anymore. Even with that in mind, he couldn't help but fall into the old routine. Well, with more cruelty. "Hey, babe, mind telling me why you're trespassing?" he hissed, raising his shackles. Everything that went on in his mind, everything was going nuts.
"No, not again, it won't happen again!"
Notes: click here I absolutely love Cedarclaw, and now I'm sharing him with you. <3 I was so lazy. >n>
