Fallowpaw perked her ears up at the harsh yowls coming from camp. She had been out collecting fresh moss, juniper berries, and marigold. She now smelled....blood! She looked around quickly and snatched up some cobwebs from a nearby bush and darted into camp. She rushed to the medicine den with all of her herbs in her mouth. They had made it hard for her to breathe, so she dropped them hurriedly and turned to look at Blazetail. "Blazetail! What do you need? Quickly!" She asked urgently. She clenched her jaws and pawed the wet moss towards her mentor. "You can cleanse the throat with this, I think. And with iris, you can stimulate her breathing!" She shouted instinctively, remembering the herbs and their uses she has learned.

I ran to stand next to Fallowpaw, my eyes wide with fear for Hollyheart. "Are there any herbs that I can collect for you? Anything at all I can do?" I asked urgently, my tail lashing from side to side. Patchydapple padded over to me and pressed her side into my flank, and I leaned into it slightly, grateful for her support.
I had to admire the young apprentice's courage in the face of a situation like this. I did, however, glance reproachfully at Master Falconbite. For a deputy, he was certainly too ready to give up on his clanmates; especially his sister! I gave Breezepaw's head one more lick and pulled away slowly. She glanced up at me, and I blinked. "Have courage, my dear." I murmured, then padded away, following the fear-scent trail that Chasingclouds had left, and found him gnawing nervously at a frog. I made a face; I had never liked eating those. But we should be happy for any prey. We all get over it sometime.

Fallowpaw looked at Breezepaw. "Yes, you can fetch me some iris. They are a purple-blue color, with a yellow center. Hurry! They should be growing by the stream!" The medicine cat apprentice told Breezepaw. Her gaze hung on Hollyheart, she feared for the warrior's life. "Hold on, Hollyheart. Just hold on. We are doing everything we can. Hold on," she pleaded quietly to the warrior. She forced her gaze from Hollyheart to look at her mentor. "We have to save her. We have to." She meowed solidly, almost in a commanding voice. But it was meant to be a plea, a hope. The she-cat tore her gaze from Blazetail and once more gazed at Hollyheart.

Blackpaw bounded into the clearing, still drowsy from her little nap. The smell of blood woke her up, and she knew something was wrong. She gazed at Hollyheart with eyes as wide as the moon. "What in the name of StarClan!?" she spat in disgust.

"Hollyheart decided to prank Briartooth by throwing him in the river while he was still sleeping. Duskfur had it in his mind that he'd prank Falconbite the same way, except Falconbite was not asleep. The two got out of the river and Briartooth kicked Duskfur, sending him tumbling down into the mud pit, dirtying his oh-so-precious pelt. Duskfur was furious. He lauched himself at Briartooth, claws unsheathed. Hollyheart took the blow before she really thought about what she was doing, and now she lying here on the ground bleeding her guts out. Just get helping, for StarClan's sake!" Fallowpaw hissed, annoyed at the apprentice for being so ignorant of the helpless warrior lying on the ground bleeding. /Just get helping, Great StarClan!; how hard is it to understand she needs help!/, she thought.
